Objective

This article explains how to configure IPv6 Tunneling on the RV180 and RV180W routers. Tunneling allows IPv6 packets to be transmitted over an IPv4 network. Tunneling is often used when a site or end user wants to connect to the IPv6 Internet using the existing IPv4 network.

Applicable Devices

Configure IPv6 Tunneling

Step 1. Use the Router Configuration Utility to choose Networking > IPv6 > Tunneling. The Tunneling page opens:

Step 2. In the Automatic Tunneling field, check Enable.

Step 3. (Optional) In the Remote End Point field, check Enable if there is a remote endpoint to which you want to route IPv4 traffic.

Step 4. In the Remote End Point IPv4 Address field, enter the IP address of the remote endpoint.

Step 5. Click Save.
