Objective

MAC addresses are uniquely assigned to each Network Interface Card (NIC) and cannot be changed. Through MAC address filters, you can increase the security of your network since you can allow/deny certain MAC addresses access to your network. This provides additional security to the devices on the network and can prevent network break-ins.

This article explains how to configure MAC Address Filtering on WAP551 and WAP561 access points.

Applicable Devices

• WAP551
• WAP561

 Software Version

• v1.0.4.2
