Objectives

VLAN is a Virtual Local Area Network. This means that there is a group of hosts that communicate as if they are on the physical network, regardless of their location. This can allow the IP phone to connect to a different host no matter where it is, assuming it is on the same virtual network as the host.

This document explains how to enable VLAN on the SPA500 and SPA300 series IP phones

Applicable Devices

• SPA 500 Series

• SPA 300 Series

Enable VLAN

Step 1. Press the Setup icon.

 

Step 2. Press 3 or navigate to Settings.

Step 3. Navigate to Network Configuration and press Select using the soft-key.

 

Step 4. Navigate to Enable VLAN — Note: Press **# to unlock or lock certain edit options on the phone.

Step 5. Press Edit to change the status of VLAN.

Step 6. Press Y/N to toggle between Yes and No to enable or disable the VLAN.

Step 7. Press OK to save the changes.
